Joanne and Hannah Eccles have been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky, USA, in October 2010. Alongside John Eccles, club head coach, the girls hope to travel with a horse to compete in Kentucky. It is going to cost approximately £15,000 to travel and compete there, so naturally they have begun fundrasing and have raised £3000 so far. They are aiming high for Kentucky with Joanne having won the European Championships in Sweden in 2009. Hannah was placed 8th in the junior class last year and has moved into the senior class this year.
John with Hannah and Joanne at the CVIO Aachen in 2009 Joanne is taking part in the Alloa Half Marathon on the 21st of March to further fundraise, though it is going to take a lot of hard work to reach our total. To keep up with the girls follow Joanne's blog on horsehero.com. If you are interested in sponsoring them please give what you can through our donate button. They are also looking for larger sponsors, whose logo's/names could be printed on kit, horse pads and of course on the Lorry which will be travelling around Britain, Germany, France, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands this year. For further information please email Joanne on mojojojo16@hotmail.com Every donation is appreciated. Thank you. For more information on vaulting and the World Equestrian Games please visit: |
